    creating node with node number

HI all, I am creating a node using the command " *createnode x y x " When i switch on the node number, it shows as 1. Is it possible to create a node using command with specific node number (say 501) If so, please let me know the command..
  2. Hello all, For stress analysis, I want to show the stress value of some nodes, in order to make a screenshot for documentation. To do this I put a note on the selected node, and in the note i write {entity.contour_val}. Now the problem is, that i get the value of the selected node and all of the nodes surrounding it. But i only want the stress value of that particular node. Does anyone know what to do? Thank you in advance.
  3. Dear all, the following image is an example. In the following image, i would like to re-number the node number 13 to 113. I am able to do it using the manual options available under tools option. But i would like to re-number using commands or tcl scripts. Thanks & Regards, Prabhu p
  4. Hi, I am trying to create a script that is supposed to query node information from the Card Image . Is there any API to capture the following information marked in the image below?
  5. X,Y,Zの節点座標リストから、HyperMesh上で節点やラインを作る方法 コマンドウィンドウで、*createnodeコマンドを使うと簡単に作ることができます。 詳細は、下記URLのビデオをご確認下さい。 http://fast.wistia.net/embed/iframe/fdczlyk37j?popover=true
  7. Hi all, I want to select the internal nodes for any nonuniform hole. So for same i want to write a tcl script. any idea? I have written script for cylindrical hole. it works perfectly. but what if it is not cylindrical hole. please suggest me any solution.

    Where are these nodes from?

Hello, When I selected nodes, more nodes are selected, but I didn't create them.I am curious that where are they from? How can I select the nodes I wanted only?thank you.
  9. Hi all, Without making temp nodes to preserved nodes how come there are preserved nodes in model. Is it possible? Thanks, mahes
  10. Hi , what is the command to select nodes by path?
  11. hi, hm_appendmark nodes 1 "by adjacent" Since nodes cant be marked by adjacent. But I need to get adjacent nodes . Is there anyway that I can use

    Beam with non unoform

Hello I am just new in hyperwork. I want to do displacement analysis for non unofrom beam as shown below. i have 2 different cross section, i defined 2 hyperbeam, 2 properties and 2 component. i use 3 nodes and use cbeam to connect the nodes, the define load step use optistruc to solve analysis, but my analytical value and value that optistruc is obtained are different. i just thank that maybe i should use RBE2 in B, am I right?if yes how can i do that? If no, what is my fault. Big thanks

Is there any way to get the node between two nodes of a element by tcl command
  14. Hello , I am doing the structural analysis of the disc and i need to apply forces on a particular area ( where the calliper is attached) again and again with different element sizes. I want to enquire is there a way so that i can simply select the area (maybe a predefined surface or something ) and the software can pick up nodes in that particular area? Thanks

Using the Probe Command - AFDEX

Hello people, This post is about using the "Probe" command in AFDEX to directly pick the nodes of interest from the screen and know the values of state variables like Effective Stress, Effective Strain etc. 1.Open the simulation result file (Format: .a2dsrf for 2D and .a3dsrf for 3D, refer AFDEX File types for details) and select the parameter whose value needs to be probed from the post-processor window. In this example, effective stress is selected. 2. Click the "Probe" command from the tool window and select the node of interest. The probed value is displayed on the lower bottom of the screen. Let us know what you think and feel free to ask questions if you have any. Cheers from AFDEX Support Team!

    Contact pressure concentration

Hi everyone, I'm trying to model a cylindrical section being held between a grip that tightens around it. When I look at each jaw however, I have a contact pressure concentration in one area and I can't seem to find out why. I'm using Optistruct V13 and I use the auto-contact tool to create the contacts between each component. I have checked for penetration between these components and there is none (there is between two other pieces but I do not look at these). I have quite a fine mesh as I'm looking at this specific area (mesh size 0.5mm). Does anyone know what I could do to get rid of this point? Could it be that these nodes are slightly irregular and 'sticking out' slightly from the component? Thank you for any help you may be able to give me!
  18. Hello all, I am from a Geophysics background and I am attempting to use HyperMesh to generate a FE Mesh of some basic reservoirs containing different fracture or fault geometries I am trying to mesh a a simplified model of a reservoir (volume) with two embedded intersecting faults (surfaces). I attached a picture of my simple geometry to give you an idea. I need the finite element mesh for flow simulations, however the simulation requires that the triangle elements of the fracture surface have shared nodes with the tetrahedron elements of the volume. I was able to generate a mesh successfully, however it does not seem to have shared nodes because when I run my simulation there is no communication (fluid flow) between the fracture and the rest of the volume. Can anyone help me with this issue? Is there a particular setting that I need to use to ensure that there are shared nodes between the surface and volume elements. Currently, I mesh the surfaces first, using 'Create 2D AutoMesh' then create the volume around it and I mesh that using 'Tetra Mesh' I would greatly appreciate any feedback you can give on this. Thanks, Ariel

    Different Mesh Type

Hello I just downloaded the academic version of the program. I want to mesh a part with different mesh type than the already existed. For example i want to provided the locations of the nodes of the finite element, Can hyperworks provide that possiblity? Thank you in advance
  20. As you can see in the picture, two forces are acting on single node, on review, I am able to view the magnitude of that force. How to find about the other force? and to which load collector it belongs to, and it magnitude and other info.? Thanks.
  21. Hi, I have two 3D parts in contact. I want to ensure matching nodes between the parts so that the contact is good in FE. How do I do that please. I am using tet elements. Thanks

    Creating a List of Nodes

HI All, I have a very large model which has a lot of rivet connections which I plan to model using CBUSH elements. In order to easily model this, I need a list of the nodes where the rivets are to connect. I've already created fixed points at these locations in the Geometry. The way I thought to create the list of nodes is to manually create nodes at the points and renumber them 1->X. Then mesh the parts and equivalence the nodes so that it keeps the lower node ID (my logic may be flawed as I'm new to Hyperworks and this is something that would work in PATRAN). I've tried this on a small scale test model. I created the nodes (which I believe are temporary nodes) by going Geom > Nodes > Points and selecting the fixed points. I've then meshed the part, but when I equivalence (either in edges or faces) it says 0 nodes found. I assume this is because the nodes I've created are temporary or geometry nodes and not related to the mesh. However, I've exported the model as a .bdf and both the temporary nodes and the mesh nodes are recorded. Thus I'm at a loss for why equivalencing is not working! Is there any way to create mesh nodes without actually meshing, or easily create a list of the nodes I need? Cheers
  23. I am attempting to move the midside nodes to the quarter points to capture the 1/sqrt® singularity for a crack tip model. I have created nodes at the quarter points but cannot figure out how to move the midside nodes from the half point to the quarter point. I have tried using morph selecting the fixed nodes and moving nodes as well as node edit but have not had any luck. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Thank you, -Clay
