  1. HUByx overview

    HUByx is a finite element human body model developed by CEDREM. It features many internal organs as well as a representation of the internal fluid. This enables a pressure propagation inside the body due to an impact or a blast. The model has been validated for two kinds of loadings. The first one is medium speed impacts. The numerical force vs deflection curves at different locations were compared to the experimental ones. The second one is blast loading. An experimental setup with torso surrogates was reproduced. The numerical pressure vs time curves in different organs were compared to experimental ones. A presentation video is available. For now, only the torso is available in the Academic Partner Alliance.   3. Impact analysis question!!

    Hi We are doing a car impact analysis against a pole (created as a rigid wall - Geometry type = cylinder). The simulation is running, but the impact only affects the front part of the car, it does't transmit the impact energy to the entire car. We think that we are missing to make a contact between the entire car, but we don´t know how to do it. As you can see in the second image, the front part of the frame, goes through the base of the car.
  4. Mesh Refinement

    Hi there, I m performing a 3-point bending analysis on a beam (L=250mm, Squared Cross-section 30*30) and once I refine my mesh to a certain degree (elements' characteristic length < 0.5mm) I start getting error messages sent by RADIOSS. The first tells me I have initial penetration on my self-impact interface and the second is message error id 22: ShellID ... has 2 identical nodes that are not 3&4. Any idea on how to solve these issues? I ve already tried to decrease the minimum gap for initial impact, but it didn't work. Any help would be great Thanks
  5. 3PB Impact Test

    Hi there, I m trying to validate a 3 point bending simulation using a paper which presents both numerical and experimental data. I followed the exact same setup but the resultant force I keep getting is always 20% smaller than the one pretended. I've double-checked materials, properties, contacts and boundary conditions and nothing seems to change. I've tried the validation process with different papers and I always get the same problem. Any idea on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks,
  6. Hi all, I am looking for some assistance in impact testing within Radioss. I have been working on the pre-processing part where I have set up the material for the composite using LAW25, and as a result, used P10 as the property card. Also, I have defined type 7 contact between the steel indentor and the composite specimen (the whole components were chosen rather than inidividual nodes). I am finding it difficult to define the output control cards properly. Specifically, the following control cards: ENG_ANIM_DT ENG_OUTP_DT ENG_OUTP_DT ENG_RUN ENG_TFILE How do I determine these values? I believe, the values I am inputting are wrong, and running my simulation seems to take minimum of 45 minutes. . Also, how do I obtain physical data from the simulation, which I can then use to plot parameters with respect to time? Thanks.
  7. Hello everyone, I am simulating an impact of a cylinder on a plate and I have found something not coherent. When the cylinder hits the plate, the total energy is not constant anymore. But it should. Does someone know why the total energy increases and then decreases ? Thank you for your help. Emilien

Hi everyone, I want to use nonlinear material for my drop test. i have stress - strain curve. i want to know how can this be brought into Radioss ? also I want to have plastic strain among the results , i cannot find strain variable on anim tab . please let me how can i have plastic strain as result.
  9. Rigid wall (RWALL) in radios

    Hi everyone, I'm new to radioss. I'm trying to solve an drop test analysis in radios.I have solved this by making a 0.1 mm thickness pad as rigid wall. Nut i could not get reaction force or impact load as result. somewhere in this forum i have read that creating rigidwall using RWALL gives reaction forces on the wall. So i want to ask 2 questions listed them below. Kindly answer them in any way you can. Any help is appreciated 1) Is there some way that i can get reaction forces for the current setup ( pad 0.1 mm as rigidwall) ? if yes, please be kind and let me know how i can do that. 2) If rigidwall (RWALL) is good option, hoiw do I create it? if any of you have any study material or link that you can share, please do. I'm in trouble with this one.

I am Trying to do an Impact test, with Variable pressure on the surface.( M1_ELAS, P14_SOLID) I am trying to find out either Principal Stresses or Shear Stresses, but the only options regarding the stresses in the ENG_ANIM_ELEM file is either Pressure SIG X,XY,Y,YZ,Z,ZX VONMISES Are the SIG X values same as Principal Stress ? If not can u please tell me how to obtain Either Principal Stresses or Shear stresses From the model.. The Only options I can see in ENG_ANIM_ELEM file are... DENS,EPSP,ENERGY,DAM1,EPSD,FAIL,HOURG,K,SIG X,TEMP,THIC,TVIS,THIN,VORTX,THKERR,FLAY I am using version 12.0 (Student Edition) Thanks in advance
