Reading GPS Values through Serial Interface.

My understanding is that you want to read the values from the Serial port of you microcontroller (MCU) and then save them to a local text file. Practically the data goes from the GPS to your MCU and then to your PC. In order to do this you need to take advantage the Hardware in the Loop capabilities of Embed so that through the JTAG you can communicate data to and from your PC. Please take a look at the video here on how to create a basic HIL diagram. You can also check the video on encoders to get a better idea of how to read data using HIL.

Reading GPS Values through Serial Interface.

Jake, the diagram you have attached only has a target interface block. My understanding is that you have correctly used this block to read the save the data from the microcontroller to a text file. Can you please also share the diagram which you used to create the .out file?

    EMBED CODE GEN

Hello, It looks like you have an algebraic loop in your diagram. You can probably find where it is happening if you check the blocks that have turned red. Can you please share your diagram?

Getting a value from Excel (.xlsx) file

I am not sure if you can read an .xlsx but you can always save the file as .scv from within Excel and than use the FromCSV block in Activate. Maybe someone else can propose a better solution.
  5. Hello Trido, You only need to install CCS. Afterwards just open up Embed, create your diagram graphically, click Tools>Codegen >Compile and your .out file is ready. Check learn.solidthinking.com to get started.

change of settings on ePWM blocks

Hello, What you can change on the fly with the PWM block is the duty cycle (which is of course expected) but also the carrier frequency. In order to do that tick the "change period dynamically" box and you will get an extra input in the PWM block which you can use to define the frequency.

    SPWM Controller (3-Phase)

Hello Jake, If you would like to generate code please use the ePWM block located in Embedded/Delfino/PWM instead of SPWM block.

    Help with Code Headers

Hello Jake. Welcome to this is a forum on solidThinking Embed. This tool allows you to graphically create algorithms for various microcontrollers (including the F28377S) without writing a single line of code. With the auto code generator you can avoid the various compilation errors you are getting. Feel free to try Embed and ask any questions regarding the software. What would you like to achieve with your algorithm?

    Activating your license

Activating your license There are two ways to activate your license: · Set the ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH variable to point to where you stored your license file on your local drive · Place the license file in your Embed-installation-folder>/security folder and rename the file to altair_lic.dat To set the ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH variable Press the Start button. In the pop-up window, click on Control Panels. Click on Systems and select Advanced system settings. Select the Advanced tab. Click on Environment Variables. Under User Variables, select or create ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH. In the corresponding cell in the Value column, enter the complete path and file name for the license file; for example, C:\AltairLicenseFile\ALUS_ALUS_20151226_324178.dat. To place the license file in the install directory When using a local license file, without defining ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH, you can rename the license file to altair_lic.dat and place it in the <Embed-installation-folder>/security folder Note:Many Window-based computers are configured with Hide Extensions for Known File Types activated. If your computer is configured this way, you should check the name of your license file after renaming it by doing the following: Open a Windows Explorer window Go to the license file folder Right-click altair_lic.dat and click Properties. The entire license file name is displayed. If multiple extensions are displayed, delete the unwanted file extensions and click OK.

How to debug Phase Locked Loop operation

It looks to me that your diagram is too demanding for your microcontroller and the algorithm loop doesn't complete in time. Plot the trigger on the _d diagram and you will see that it is flat at 0. Now if you just keep monitor buffer blocks 0 and 1 and recompile you will see that the trigger is up again and running. Try to make your algorithm more efficient. I am not sure if that would works fine for you but if you replace the integrators with correctly time unitdelay blocks you will have significantly improved the efficiency of your algorithm.

How to debug Phase Locked Loop operation

Hello Vishaka, Can you please provide with some details of what you are expecting to get and what you are getting? Also, have you tried to simulate the diagram and if yes, is it working as expected there? Kind regards, Isi
  12. Hello Hammad, A good starting point for you would be learn.solidthinking.com where you can see a sufficient number of introductory video tutorials on sT Embed usage. Even though these examples are for the Piccolo you can follow the same strategy to build models for the Delfino. You can also check the Piccolo examples within Embed. Is there a specific module/peripheral you would like to get more info about?
