  2. Hi Suresh, If you want to carry out a drop test, I would suggest to use RADIOSS which is based on Explicit techniques. In Radioss you can apply initial veloctiy through /INVEL card which is supported through HM Thanks, Vikas

  5. Hi Ruchik, Hope you are doing great. Yes, you can solve the LC1 with Restart files written to this subcase. You can then use these Restart files to run Job 1 to Job 10 by solving for only Load Case 2 in each Job. Thanks Vikas

  10. Hi Nachiket, Generally RBE2 add stiffness to the structure it is connected to but not the RBE3's The FE joints available in OS currently support only Nonlinear Quasi-Static (NLSTAT) load cases.   14. Hi Sundaram, This particular forum is for OptiStruct Solver and we will be glad to help you out should you have any questions regarding OptiStruct. It is pretty simple in OptiStruct to define a pre-tension section and their is no need to define an extra node to apply the pre-tension load. HyperMesh provides a easy to use pre-tension Utility to define pre-tension section and apply force/displacement on the section itself.   15. Hi Harmeek, I don't see any thumb rule for calculating the modes. I believe it all depends on how dense your matrices are in decoupling the matrices and solving the equation directly. OptiStruct do not have a limitation on the performance for FRF step to be maximum at 4 cores. In fact, you can use Domain Decomposition Method (DDM) for FRF step and run the job with multiple cores to get better performance. Please give a try with DDM Thanks Vikas

    Hi Ramakiran, Yes, you can perform oil canning or denting analysis in OptiStruct. You can use either NLSTAT or NLTRAN with PARAM,LGDISP,1 to define the non-linearities. The loading and unloading curves can be defined through a TABELS1 card. Thanks Vikas

  25. Hi, Random response analysis is a transfer function of FRF and is a mode based procedure. You need to have these load collectors like RLOAD2, DAREA, FREQi etc as inputs for FRF analysis. I presume ANSYS applies a unit load by default for FRF and then uses it as transfer function to RRA Thanks, Vikas
