  1. Delete free nodes

    Alex, It has been a while since you asked that question. I don't know if you still need help. If you do, please check Analysis -> Preserve nodes see if there are any preserve nodes in your model. HM would automatically delete those once you transfer any preserve nodes to normal nodes.

  3. nvh topology optimization

    Hello, I am doing a NVH optimization and facing a problem when setting the frequency response. As asked by the Optistruct, i need a specific mode number for response setting. However, it is just a topology optimization which still in the very beginning of concept design. I do not know which mode is the one I need. For the EIGRL, I picked from 1 to 60 hz with 10 exporting mode. So my question is which mode should I leave to the response?

    @Prakash Pagadala I changed it to analysis only later. It works now. Yes, you are right. Optimization is too big to run. This model contains about 3 million elements. Thanks again

    @Prakash Pagadala One more question about the AMSES. After creating the eigra and the cms in the load collector, is there any other operation need to take before set it to run? I have my program on running for 9 hours...it doesn't seems right to me.....

    Hi everyone, I am trying to setup a NVH problem with AMSES solver. According to altair's solver introduction (http://www.altairhyperworks.com/hwhelp/Altair/hw14.0/help/hwsolvers/hwsolvers.htm?solvers_overview_intro.htm#amses). AMSES should be activated from CMSMETH. I am new to Optistruct. Could some one please explain how exactly the CMSMETH should be set up? And why CMSMETH represents in load collector instead of control card? How about SOLVTYP? please explain how to set up SOLVTYP as well, if may. Thanks

  13. Hi, I am wondering that does the Optistruct is a mesh independent optimize solver? in other words, does the topo optimization result in Optistruct change with mesh refinement? I don't have time to make a model for verification so hopefully someone can help me on this. It should not have different pattern of topo optimization for finer elements if proper sensitivity filter used. Thanks,
  14. Hi @Prakash Pagadala Thanks for the reply. I DO have checked this tutorial. Is does solve my problem because: 1. it is shape optimization not topo. Not sure if HS can do topo multi-objective optimization as while. 2. it is linear and didn't mention anything about nonlinear. Do you know if HS do have non-linear optimization feature.
