  1. Hi, I am currently learning how to carry out lattice based optimization on OptiStruct. I have attempted the attached tutorial found elsewhere on the HyperWorks forums, but keep running into the same problem during the Run in OptiStruct? I have tried various edits of the line below the DTPL card line but keep coming across the same error. Any help would be much appreciated?   2. Skateboard Tutorial

    Hello I'm new to Hyperworks and would like to learn via tutorials, especially Optistuct and Hypermesh for ply and composite analysis and optimisation. I've found a .pdf file and heard about a skateboard tutorial but I can't find the tutorial files anywhere. I'm using Hyperworks 14 (non student edition, I believe). I would be happy if someone could help me with this. Pascal
  3. Tutorial file controlarm.fem

    Hello In the tutorial OS-T 3300 Lattice Optimization the file controlarm.fem is needed. I have downloaded the zip file of OptiStruct with this following link I have found: https://altairuniversity.com/model-files-for-student-edition-users-accompaniment-to-the-tutorials-in-help/ But this seems to be the wrong file, as there is no controlarm.fem. Can someone help me to find the right download for this file? I don't have a student edition of HyperMesh/OptiStruct. Thank you in advance for your help!
  4. Hello guys, I tried the tutorial "HS-1545: DOE and Optimization Study with HyperMesh, HyperStudy, and ANSYS CFX" and it worked very well. Now I want to use a .msh file instead of the model.cas file. I thought there should be no problem because it is also a fluent-file. So I created a new study and went through the steps of the setup. When I reached the "evalute" step HS was able to write the Input files. But when HS wanted to execute it shows me always the attached picture. Is it possible to change some terms in the responsible files to avoid this error? Or is it just impossible to use a .msh file?

  7. OS 2098 error

    Hello, I am trying to run the Optistruct Tutorial OS 2098 with the MBD excavator arm. The analysis works fine, but optimization unfortunately not. Doing everything like in the tutorial, I get errors you can see in the attached output file. Decreasing h_min in the Load_Collector doesn't help. Like it is recommended in line 1062 in the output. But if i decrease h_min to 1e-14, Iteration 0 is running for hours now. So this could not be the right way to solve the tutorial i guess. Is this the only big error? Or are there others I can solve? Would be great to get this tutorial running, because my goal in optistruct is to optimize one part in a MBD, too. Thanks in Advance! os_2098_error.txt

Hello all, I was following the Optistruct tutorial and got stuck at the following step: Step 4: Create temperatures on the inner surface of the pipe 2.From the Analysis page, click constraints. 3.Go to the create subpanel. 4.Make sure the current selection field is set to nodes. 5.Click nodes >> by sets. 6.Select node_temp and click select. 7.Uncheck the box in front of dof1, dof2, dof3, dof4, dof5, and dof6 and verify that the entry fields are set to 0.0. 8.Set load types = to SPC. 9.Click create. This applies the temperature 0.0 on the inside nodes. In the next step, the temperature value will be updated to 60. 10.Click the Card edit icon . 11.Click loads >> by collector. 12.Check the box in front of spc_temp and click select. 13.Click config= and select const. 14.Click type= and select SPC. 15.Click edit. 16.In the field of D, enter 60.0. 17.Click return three times to go back to the Analysis page. Step 16: D is not editable for me. Tried it several times. Loadcollector has no card image (but does not need one, I guess). Your help as always is very appreciated. Merula
