  1. Difference MINDIM, MINMEMB

Hello Is there a difference if you set MINDIM or MINMEMB? You can go either to Analysis>Optimization>Topology>Parameter and then change minmemboff to mindim with a value, which will assign it to the Design Variable Property. Or you can go to Analysis>Optimization>Opticontrol and set MINDIM with a value, which creates a new optimization control named 'optistruct_opticontrol'. Thank you in advance for your help!
  2. Lattice structure minimum diameter

How does the MINDIM work? I have changed the elment mesh size to 7.5 mm and set MINDIM to 0.5 mm. But I still get lattice structures with smaller diameters (Ømin=0.038 mm).
  3. Lattice structure minimum diameter

Hello Thank you! Well the minimum diameter is also related to the element size. I guess by setting a mesh with enough big elements, will create bigger lattice structures.
  4. Lattice structure minimum diameter

Hello Normally a lattice optimization does create lattice structures of different elements. Does a way exist to set a minium diameter of the lattice structure? I know the function 'MINRAD', which cleans in the second optimization phase and eliminates all elements above the set value. If I use MINRAD, almost all lattice structures are eliminated, as they are quite small (between 0.0027 and 0.335 mm). The ideal lattice structure would have diameters above 0.5 or 1 mm. How can this be set? I thank you in advance for your help!
  5. Measure lattice diameters

    Thank you very much!!
  6. Cross section

    Perfect! Thank you very much!
  7. Measure lattice diameters

    Here are two extracts from the <filename>_lattice.fem: CBEAM 12983 6184 7674 37285 1.25373 2.25 1.75 PBEAML 2 1 ROD + .1790678 0.0 1.0.1790678 What column stands for the diameter? Thank you for your help!!
  8. Measure lattice diameters

Hello I have made a lattice optimization. Now I would like to measure the diameter of the lattice beams. Do you know how to measure them? I thank you in advance for your help!
  9. Cross section

Hello I have made a lattice optimization. Now I would like to make some cross section through the model. How can it be done? I thank you in advance for your help!
  10. Topology optimization with design/non design components

Thank you in the meanwhile the problem got solved.
  11. Hello Currently I have a problem in the topology optimization of a bearing bracket. It has two components: non design and design component. The topology optimization is feasible, but there is no connection between the non design and design part. In the two pictures you can see, that the design part around the four holes only exists by the most minimal density. For the moment there is a contact 'TIE' between the non design and design components. Do you know how to connect the two parts, to get a topology optimization which connects them? I thank you in advance for your help!
  12. Error message Optistruct

    Thank you it worked now.
  13. Error message Optistruct

Hello Following error message appears by running Optistruct: *** ERROR # 15 *** CTETRA element 3918 is distorted (zero or negative Jacobian). Do you know how to solve the problem? Thank you in advance for your help.
  14. Menu not shown correctly since windows update

Thank you, I will try it.
  15. Hello Since I have made the latest update of windows, the whole menu on the bottom of hypermesh (with Geom, 1D, 2D, 3D, Analysis, Tool and Post page) is not shown properly. It looks like in the uploaded file. The selection of the Analysis page, Tool page and so on disappeared. And by selecting one of the new panel, the visualisation struggels. Is this a familiar problem? How can it be fixed? Thank you in advance for your help!
