  1. The license is found under the student edition downloads section once the license is approved (takes about 5 days) This order was approved.
  2. We see that your order was delivered, India Students must write to - edu-support@india.altair.com to get the approval of the student edition,
  3. The student edition does not allow command line solving, solvers are interfaced through the app alone.
  4. Please follow the video attached , you can contact local HyperWorks support directly for help setting up server licenses Altair License Manager Installation_12.0.3.wmv
  5. The HyperWorks student edition interfaces with solvers only through HyperMesh (HW Apps) and not through command line or solver manager, Please solve the file through the apps itself,
  6. Michal1509, Can you please confirm if the above has helped you?
  7. Use windows folder options > unhide known extensions, to make sure the file is named altair_lic.dat and not altair_lic.dat.dat, You need to confirm if the Ethernet address in the license file is the correct one and matches the one in your machine. When you open the license file in a text editor you will see an Ethernet address there in a line that says "ETHERNET = The Ethernet ID is the ID of your machine which is exactly 12 hexadecimal numbers. For example D4WRF478F398 Run ipconfig/all in command window and check for physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection: The listed physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection should be used to generate the license file, That means if the address provided as above does not match the one in the license file, please request for the license file again with the correct Ethernet ID. You can check your computer’s Ethernet address, by using the almutil -hostid application from the Start > Altair > Tools > Admin tools Menu and compare it with the result in the command window, Alternatively run getmac in command window to find out available Ethernet addresses to cross check as well,
  8. It is important to first try deleting the downloaded file and downloading it again from the site. To make sure the file is not damaged on download, run an md5 checksum on the downloaded file (just google md5 checksum) and make sure the checksum result matches the one given in the site where the files are downloaded from, Double click / run the Winmd5 checksum executable (download win md5 a freeware from the internet, please note we cannot be responsible for external content and info) Select the executable by clicking on the browse button or drag and drop the file into the window The AcuSolve installer extracts two 7-zip archives to install the product. In this case, it looks like only one of them got extracted. The AcuSolve directory should be about 2.4gb. Could you check the size on your customer’s PC? Could you try using the AcuSolve installer as a standalone and overwriting the current install? You might want to try cleaning up the directory that $TMP points to and rebooting the PC first,

Please delete the settings files as below and restart the app Please make sure you have a supported graphics card as in the list attached (and that the supported card is in use and not an onboard one instead) and the supported / latest driver version, HyperWorks_2017_Hardware_Recommendations_and_Certifications.pdf
  11. We see that you have ordered the Altair student edition from the Altair store and this was delivered to you, The software requires a license file to function, please login to your Altair Store account to download the license file. You should find the license file in the Student Edition Downloads section, After downloading the license file, rename it to altair_lic.dat and place the same in the <installation directory>/security folder If you have already done the above and still face the error, let us know and we will troubleshoot accordingly.

  13. Can you confirm you have the simlab feature in the license file? you can open the license in textpad and look for a feature called FEATURE SimLabPrePost and two other features with the text simlab.
