  1. Abhijeet, Kindly drop-box me your file. i can go thorough the same & suggest the changes, if any.
  2. Kindly refer below provided Video for the same -
  3. Dear Team, I want to create a Mesh without surface on Cylinder End. Both the ends are open for the cylinder. Kindly help me to solve this issue.
  4. Abhijeet, Kindly share the screen-shot of the same. So, i can help you.
  5. There are two parameters related to size in Topology Optimization, namely "Minimum Member size & Maximum Member size" One challenge with post-processing topology optimization results is that the results may have several intermediate density elements or checkerboard patterns which can be interpreted either as solid members or as a void. If these semi-dense elements are interpreted as thin members, the final design is harder to manufacture. OptiStruct offers the Minimum & Maximum Member Size control method which provides some control over member size in the final topology designs by defining the least & maximum dimension required in the final design. It helps achieve a discrete solution by eliminating the intermediate density elements and checkerboard density pattern, resulting in a discrete and better-reinforced structure, which is easier to interpret and also easier to manufacture. Guide lines for Member size values - 1. Minimum Member Size It is recommended that the MIN-DIM value be a) 3 times the average element size for proper mesh alignment b. 2 times the average element size if mesh is not properly aligned. 2. Maximum Member Size The MAX-DIM value will be 2 - 2.5 times MIN-DIM value (Minimum Member Size)
  6. Kindly share your model file through drop box & respective link is below in the signature
  7. Abhijeet, Can you share the details of your part, so we can suggest you respective changes, if required.
  8. Kindly refer below provided image to know the region with connectivity issue. The region with green color is representing the same. Go to Edges Panel ( Shift + F3 ) > Find the edges > Equivalence ( increase the tolerance to connect them properly ) There was connection issue between Design & Non-design Part at bolt location. I have fixed this issue & shared the respective file on your mail ID.
  9. For AOC related , you can write your queries to Forum for India Academic Users and AOC India Participants for faster reply.
  10. For Further help, you can share your model files through my drop-box link. Kindly do not share your model openly on Forum as this is open Forum. we will go through the same & suggest you the changes, if required
  11. we have solved similar query regarding "Connectivity Issue" Kindly refer below provided link - http://forum.altairhyperworks.com/index.php?/topic/20044-aoc-pedal-optimisation/
  12. Larger displacement in your model represents there is some connectivity issue in meshing. Go to Edges Panel ( Shift + F3 ) > Find the edges > Equivalence ( Connect unconnected edges ) On a softer note, you can follow below provided instructions to avoid this issue - a Maintain same density of elements between Design & Non-design region to establish proper connectivity b. Go for Mappble Option for proper Hex Meshing.
  13. During Static analysis, you can find the node subjected to maximum displacement. You can find the location/node ID of the same. Select the same node by using ID.
  14. Dear Team, I want to know about the TYPE 7 and TYPE 2, contact types and how to apply them. These contacts have mentioned in AOC 2017 Contest Model under Radioss section. Kindly provide the information & videos for its application.
  15. Information regarding these two Contacts in Radioss for AOC 2017 Contest Models. 1. Type 7 – ( General Purpose Interface ) a. Multi-usage impact interface, modeling contact between a master surface and a group of slave nodes. b. General purpose interface and can simulate all types of impact between a set of nodes and a master surface. 2. Type 2 – ( Tied Interface ) a. Tied Contacts define an interface that kinematically connects a set of slave nodes to a master surface. b. This interface is used mainly for the connections. c. It can be used to connect coarse and fine meshes, model spot-welds, rivets, etc For AOC 2017 Radioss Model - 1. Type 7 interface is between “ Seat Frame & Ram” 2. Type 2 interface is between “Foam & Seat Frame” In order to know their application, refer below provided link for AOC 2017 Training & refer Day 14,15,16 for Radioss –
  16. Dear team, Please tell me how to find number of entities like nodes, elements, components, sets, properties etc in a meshed model ?
  17. Hello, Refer to below provided procedure & video for the same - Example for First order Penta Elements in the given mode : Tools > Count > Element > by Config > “Penta6” ( Select any entity ) In order to find %of Penta, divide the No of Penta by total number of Elements in a model. How to calculte No of Elements.mp4
  18. For Further information regarding this issue , you can refer below provided link -
  19. Nitin, The problem with your model file is you have used "Volume" as response , so it is taking in effect in design & non-design region. You can select "Volume Frac" as response in your model file & re-run it should give you desired effect. Meanwhile i will share you modified file with you on your email id.
  20. Kunal, Volumefrac / MassFrac response is the material fraction of the designable material volume. Volume / Mass response is the total volume, which includes design and non-design volume.
  21. Santhosh, Few points which may help you - 1. In this model Force application, you can use UDL approach for load application by diving the magnitude of load by number of nodes on surface. By using the same value for force application per node. ( General process in HM to apply UDL whenever required ) 2. HM is independent of unit systems. You need to follow Consistency of Unit system. Check the Units used for materials, geometry, loads & decide over the same. 3. Sometimes Optimization process takes more time & iteration to converge the given constraints & objective - You can control the iterations of the same with below provided settings - Analysis > Optimization > Opti Control > DESMAX = 150 4. Kindly do not share your model file over forum , since it is open anyone can access your model file. As my colleague have mentioned above the process to share the model file to edu-support@india.altair.com or you can drop your model file to our drop-box link provided below in the signature.
  22. Praheeh, can you provide - 1. System details like OS 2. Screen-shot of the issue 9 , if possible to capture.. Once you provide the same. we can help you to solve your issue. Meanwhile if you can call me on provided numbers, i can solve your problem early.
  23. Dear Team, there is error coming when i am using hyper works image is attached below. please help me to solve this.
