  1. Rossay, Seems to be like you are looking for Topology Optimization of Sheet Metal parts/ Surfaces. In that case, you can refer below provided video link for the same - You can download the respective model files from - here
  2. Harsh, can you precisely tell, what are you planning.?
  3. Harsh, you can apply the pressure on - 1. Faces - In this option, it will select all the elements on the face 2. Elements - In this case, you can select the elements " by manual selection or by creating sets " Pressure is always applied at the center of elements, which will have same magnitude on each element ( same as entered value ) In order to distribute them, 1. For UDL - you can divide the magnitude by no of elements & by applying same magnitude on of them 2. For UVL - you can refer Interpolation option under "Magnitude" for more information about uniformly varying load, refer below provided link -
  4. Rollacage geometry is 1D ( line data ) or 2D ( Surface data ) ?
  5. The process for solidThinking Installation & activation is given below -
  6. You can find all the information ( Platform, required Configuration, limitations ) on provided link - http://www.altairuniversity.com/hyperworks-2017-student-edition-limitations/
  7. Hello Nikhil, The process for license application for HW SE & solidThinking Inspire is the same. We already have solved this query for Hyper Works Student Edition. Kindly refer the below provided link -
  8. In case you don't have HyperWorks Student Edition Package Installed on your system, you can follow below provided link to apply for the same -
  9. The regular process to get Altair Hyper Works Student Edition is to apply through "Altair Store" which involves below provided steps - 1. Get register over Altair Store > Apply for the license - 2. Post approval, Download the license & executable - 3. Installation & Activation of the license -
  10. Dear Team, there is error coming when i am using hyper works image is attached below. please help me to solve this.
  11. Hello, we are using "Linear Interpolation Option" in which you are specifying the loads of with two different magnitude & expecting the linear interpolation between those two magnitudes. PATH - Analysis > Force > Magnitude > Linear Interpolation ( In which we have to select the nodes in between two loads & select those two loads , it will automatically interpolate the same. Kindly refer attached sample deck for the same - 123.fem Meanwhile if you want to input Equation, kindly let me know. I can share the deck & methodology for the same.
  12. In order to make the geometry Mappable , you can refer below provided tutorial. For Making Mappable Geometry - HM-2060 Creating and Editing Solid Geometry.zip For Creating Hex Mesh with Mappble Geometry - HM-3220 Creating a Hexahedral Mesh using the Solid Map Function.zip
  13. There are two ways to reduce the length of 3D Elements 1. For mapped geometry, you can simply enter the small size as compare to older size. 2. In Conventional Method, Mesh the geometry with 2D elements & with smaller element size by improving Quality Criteria , you can convert them in to 3D Elements. In both the above cases, you should delete the old HEX Elements first.
  14. Harsh, 1. In FEM, you need to apply the loads & BCs on Elements. You can simply apply the loads on Direct top & bottom Face Elements. Select any one element from top & bottom area and select them by "Face Option" ( no need to pick it manually ). 2. The application of load depends upon your case & requirement. a. If you are planning to apply load "Normal to Elements", then Pressure will suit your purpose & it will distribute same value of magnitude on each element. b. If you are planning to apply the load on nodes then, Force will suit the purpose. In case of Pressure, application you need to take care of Elements on edges to maintain the direction & magnitude with proper load application method 3. In order to delete 2D elements, you can use Delete > Elements > by configuration > ( Select "Quad / Tria" seperately ). In case, you want to apply the loads on faces, then use those elements instead of Surfaces. If you can share the model through my drop-box , i will go through the same & suggest you the changes as per your requirements.
  15. You can get the geometry file from "Extract From FE " option. Kindly check with Surface Complexity Option while working. Geometry > Surfaces > Extract From FE You can delete respective mesh by keeping your area of interest & remesh the respective surfaces with coarse size. Finally, you can equivalence them, in which it will connect all the nodes which are apart with some distance ( Using proper tolerance value )
  16. Gitesh, 1. In order to get 2D mesh from 3D mesh, you can use Faces option. Tools Page > Faces you can simply select 3D Elements & can get 2D faces, which will create new component collector with name "^faces". You can either rename the component or can shift the respective elements to new component collector with Organize Option ( Shift + F11 ). 2. If you have duplicate elements at the location, then you can probably go to Delete option ( F2 ) > Elements by collector ( Select the same collector which have duplicate elements ) If you still have any doubts or your query is other than this clarification, let me know :-)
  17. 1. Kindly refer attached document for PLOAD1 Card. PLOAD1.pdf 2. For linearly varying Load, you can refer attached model file with UVL applied over it. 123.fem In this model file, i have created two load collectors. One for point load which you can input with regular process. Second is Linear Varying Load - In which we have essentially have selected "Linear Interpolation Option" . You can refer below provided image for the same with respective inputs. You can do respective changes as per your case & can contact for any clarification regarding the same.
  18. Sure. I will look into the same for further communication.
  19. Sachin, you can share your model file through drop-box. I can share respective process with you. Once you share your model, kindly inbox me your number. so i can communicate with you.
  20. Shivang, i have removed your model file from Forum. This is open forum & anyone can access your model file. In order to share your model file, Kindly share *.HM file to my drop-box - https://ftin.india.altair.com:8443/filedrop/~PfJQ9h
  21. You can find the same with provided attachment. You can download the same with HM-1010 Opening & Saving File.zip
  22. Abhijeet, Kindly drop-box me your file. i can go thorough the same & suggest the changes, if any.
  23. Kindly refer below provided Video for the same -
  24. Dear Team, I want to create a Mesh without surface on Cylinder End. Both the ends are open for the cylinder. Kindly help me to solve this issue.
