  1. ERROR 14: Missing MAT #

Hi Prayesh I am still stuck on this problem any help would be great.
  2. ERROR 14: Missing MAT #

Hi Prakash, I also want to see the stress in the Y plane along the model. But I don't understand what these specific choices mean. What is XX, XY, ZZ? Which do I choose if i want to see the stress in the Y plane along the composite. I have attached my model file and screenshot of what I am confused about. Thanks, Neel 2dmodel.hm
  3. ERROR 14: Missing MAT #

Hi, when running optistruct analysis on a aluminium honeycomb composite which is simulating three point bending I received this error: A fatal error has been detected during input processing: *** ERROR 14: Missing MAT # 1 referenced by PLY # 5, (existing MAT with this ID is of incorrect type). But when I changed the property from PCOMPP to PSOLID as was stated in previous forum posts I got another error message. I don't know what I am doing wrong any help would be great! I have attached the model file. Thanks, Neel alhoneycomb.hm
  4. The values I should obtain should be much smaller than this around 5mm or so.
  5. Hey sorry, But i receive very large values when I run the optistruct analysis? I dont understand what the problem is, the picture below helps to show the displacement. Thanks, Neel
  6. Hi, Messages for the job: *** See next message about line 64 from file: C:/Users/neel_/OneDrive/Documents/Dissertation/2d model/2dmodel.fem "SET 1 ELEM LIST" *** ERROR # 1728 *** in the input data: Incorrect SET definition. I receive this message. How would I be able to disconnect nodes between components? Neel
  7. Hi Prakash, Sorry one more question i want to change the mesh element size after the model has been created from 3mm to 5mm how would I do that? Because when i do 2d>automesh and select the model and change the size from there an error comes up? What is the easiest way to do this? Thanks, Neel
  8. What should I update it to? Because in a three point bending machine there is a roller support at one end meaning that the dof2 is free and cannot be constrained?
  9. Hi, when i try to open the file it says that this file is a 17.01-0 file is not backwardly compatible and nothing comes up. I have the student version v14.0 of Hyperworks is there some way you could change the version so that I can view it? Thanks, Neel
  10. Hi Prayesh, I imported the FEM file into Hyperworks and I still receive an error when I try to do Optistruct analysis. Messages for the job: *** See next message about line 23157 from file: C:/Users/neel_/OneDrive/Documents/Dissertation/2d model/honeycomb/alhoneycom3d.fem "CQUAD4 16667 0 39 21725 228 40" *** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data: Incorrect data in field # 3. **************** Too many error messages. Aborting run. Current limit is 10000. Use "MSGLMT" control card to change this value. Neel
  11. Hi Prayesh could you send me the model file as well please if possible? Neel
  12. Hi Prayesh, Sorry but I already tried that and got an error message again after I ran optistruct analysis. Messages for the job: *** See next message about line 22774 from file: C:/Users/neel_/OneDrive/Documents/Dissertation/2d model/honeycomb/alhoneycomb3d.fem "CQUAD4 16667 0 39 21725 228 40" *** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data: Incorrect data in field # 3. **************** Too many error messages. 13. Hi, I only changed the card image for aluminium honeycomb to mat9ort and nothing else but it seems to come up with that error still? I have attached the file for reference. Neel alhoneycomb3d.hm
  14. Hi I changed the material o MAT9ORT and i receive this error I don't understand what I am doing wrong? Messages for the job: *** See next message about line 22774 from file: C:/Users/neel_/OneDrive/Documents/Dissertation/2d model/honeycomb/alhoneycomb3d.fem "CQUAD4 16667 0 39 21725 228 40" *** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data: Incorrect data in field # 3. **************** Too many error messages. Aborting run. Current limit is 10000. Use "MSGLMT" control card to change this value. Neel
  15. I don't have all the material properties to fill in the properties on the MAT9ORT or Mat9 card so i chose to do MAT8 car instead, should i just assume that the values in 1-2 direction is equal? Thanks, Neel
