  1. type 2 interface

    I am getting some errors “ negative mass on node” and some warnings “check tied interface”. On checking the nodes by ID I can see that these nodes are on the master contact surfaces of TYPE 2 contact with SPOTFLAG=0. when I set SPOTFLAG=1, simulation can continue to work, it cause a relatively important added mass (mass error=0.15, it is unaccptable) from 1st cycle to last cycle. I read some discussions about this issue in the forum, but I can not find an answer that can solve the problem. So, anybody can help me? Thank you very much!

    Hi everybody, I'm doing a topology optimization and, when I launch the job, it gives me this error: *** FATAL ERROR # 8004 *** Data block seqs has zero length. * DATAMANAGER ERROR in subroutine "datame". how can I resolve this issue? Thanks!

    hi, Do you mean I can creat shell elements with a very small thickness(for example 0.01mm,PSHELL property) over solid elements by find face panel or other panels?

    Thank you ! The element type in the model you have done in the past is solid element or shell element ? Can you share some tutorials for instruction ? the element type in my model is solid element. and Linear interpolation only works with shell elements from online help.

    But I don't want to make the material density to zero where I don’t need gravity load to be applied. Are there any other ways to apply gravity to the parts/component apart from making other parts/component's material density to zero in OptiStruct? It seems like similiar requirement can be achieved in RADIOSS.

    I made a file about topology optimization in RADIOSS. In my file there are two parts naming as “hg” and “sf”, the part “sf” is considered as rigid body. I want to make topology optimization about the part “hg” when there is a concentrated load pushing the part “sf”. First, the implicit simulation is carried out while considering gravity loading of two parts. In order to remove the rigid body modes, the part “sf” is connected to fixed nodes via type 8 spring elements. It outputs an initial state file. Then I made an explicit simulation with a concentrated loading pushing the part “sf”. The explicit simulation includes the initial state file. At the same time, I made a .radopt file including optimization objective, design responses, design constraints. They are achieved through /DESOBJ, /DTPL, /DRESP1, /DONSTR options. When I submitted the .radopt file in OptiStruct, it showed me one error. *** ERROR # 4207 *** /Invalid value in field “DTYP” on card /DTPL # 1. According to the Online Help, there is only one option 1 can be used. And in the .radopt file the field “DTYP” is 1. I don’t know why it shows me the error. Can anyone tell me why?
