  1. HyperGraph Scripting

    Hello everyone! I would like to ask how to write a simple script for HyperGraph2D, which would allow importing h3d file and then exporting curves in a text format. My problem is that I am facing optimization, for which I need to post-process dozens of curves using an inhouse code, which operates on fem results in a text format. Unfortunately, according to the manual, for the simulations that I use (NLGEOM), OptiStruct generates only binary output. To overcome this problem, I was thinking to use HyperGraph in batch mode, to import a h3d file and then export some of its content as ascii file. Can anyone help in this matter? Kind regards, Jakub
  2. Hello everyone! I would like to create an ascii output file for an inhouse postprocessing, which would contain a history of stress in chosen elements and rotational displacement (angle) of a node which is a center of rotation of a cylinder. The type of simulation that I use is implicit nonlinear statics, with several load increment steps. I was trying to print out all the data in a punch file, but this didn't work - the file was created, but it was empty. It is also important to me to print rotation angle for a chosen node and not other quantities. I cannot find this option among the availabel output types when creating an "output block" in hm in optistruct user profile. Is there any method to print the history of these two output types in the ascii format? Thank you for your answer in advance, Jakub
  3. Preloaded modal analysis

    Thanks for the fast reply. I am trying to do a modal analysis of a highly elastic system which is preloaded before it enters the operational conditions. So the preloading force deflects the system to high extent and after that it goes under harmonic excitation. I would like to find modal response of this system, which is nonlinearly deflected. Unfortunately, when NLSTAT is chosen for the STATSUB(PRELOAD) in modal analysis, the solver gives an error: *** ERROR # 1999 *** in the input data: In SUBCASE 2: card STATSUB(PRELOAD) references wrong type SUBCASE 1. where SUBCASE 1 refers to "geom non-linear (impl statics)" with a NLPARAM parameter and SUBCASE 2 is simply "normal modes" analysis. I know that this is easily attainable with linear statics using STATSUB card, but I would like to find normal modes of a structure after non-linear static analysis (with contacts). Is it possible to run this sequence of analyses in OptiStruct: nonlinear statics --> normal modes? If not, would you have any suggestions how to do this? Best regards, Jakub
